Lone Star

Went to Lone Star last night.  Why do restaurants think they have to change their menus all the time?  They have taken my favorite meal, garlic medalions, off the menu as well as the french dressing.  I got a Texas Ribeye, which last night had a $5.00 off promotion, medium well.  It was very flavorable and really tasty.  I got a lettuce wedge with thousand island dressing.  I only eat iceberg lettuce so this was my kind of eating. Our waiter, Carl, was very nice, but not quite into our kind of humor we were passing out.  Before we left though, I think he kinda got us. All in all, a good experience.

Baby Back Ribs at Applebee's

Robert Seitsema, the author and food critic for the Village Voice mentioned in his comprehensive Columbia Journalism Review article, “Everyone Eats…But that doesn’t make you a restaurant critic."


I beg to differ.  I know what I like and if it is good.  I went to Applebee's in Briarcreek last night for dinner.  I ordered a half rack of ribs with southern BBQ sauce.  It came with cole slaw and french fries.  The ribs were good but that was the smallest half rack of ribs I have ever seen.  The meat (very skimpy) on the ribs was good.  The cole slaw was not good.  I can measure a place by their cole slaw.  The french fries were small in size, but tasty.

The waitress we had was very attentive and pleasant.  The atmosphere has been upgraded and is now a decent place to dine.  However, music was too loud and tables too close.  You could hear everybody's conversation around you.  Will probably not go back to this restaurant until we give out of other places.

Introduction to my Blog

Hi, my name is Tricia Day.  My family and I go out to eat quite a bit and I wanted to let you know my experiences in several of the restaurants I have visited.  From time to time you will see my reviews.  I am a picky eater and only eat certain things in any restaurant I go to but I get an idea of the place from seeing how the waiters/waitresses respond and how the food I ordered tasted. I hope you will check back with me from time to time to see what is new.  I will also probably go back in time some to review restaurants I have visited in the past but do not go to anymore for one reason or another.
